2022 saw the Sydney Uni American Football Club field teams in the Mens, Womens and Colts divisions of Gridiron NSW.

The Cubs had a strong year, finishing the season with a 4-2-1 record and made it all the way to the Kookaburra Bowl. Unfortunately the Cubs could not overcome the Sutherland Seahawks in the Grand Final.

The Lions Women finished the season with a 3-3-1 record which secured them a place in the playoffs where they met the UNSW Raiders in the Semi Final.

The Lions Men had another fantastic year which culminated in them winning their 22nd State Championship! The Lions Men finished the season with a 6-3 record. They faced the UTS Gators in the semi Final, where the final result was 30-21 in the Lions favor. The Final culminated with the Lions overcoming the Northern Sydney Rebels to claim their second Waratah Bowl in a row.
